This is a fun and creative, beginner-friendly riso printing course based in Utrecht where you will design and riso print a zine. A fun way to express your creativity in a unique and narrative way. During this course, you will create your own zine. A zine is a small booklet/mini-magazine. The (magazine) format is ideal for a short story or an overarching theme. Your illustrations are the focus, but you will also learn how to work with text and typography. If you've always had a poem, short story, or even a book in mind, this course is an excellent way to discover how it works as a booklet and to experiment with your own ideas. The focus of the four-day course is on using analog techniques, experimenting with different materials, and storytelling. In addition to designing the zine, we will also delve into storytelling. We will discuss different types of zines (leparello, binding, pop-up booklet), after which you will ultimately choose your favorite to work with. This creative riso printing course in Utrecht is the ideal way to relax and explore your artistic side. No preparation is required, although you're welcome to bring your own magazines, photos, illustrations, and text. We'll work with markers, old magazines, collage, and the riso printer's scanner. No laptop or digital media required (though welcome!), just your creativity and enthusiasm! You'll receive a total of: • 10 copies of your homemade zine • 20 riso masters to experiment with • 100 sheets of 90 gsm biotop paper per lesson to experiment with • All color swatches for the riso printer • A wealth of useful riso knowledge and guidance • Snacks, drinks, and plenty of fun and connection with other creatives!
